• Ear Symptoms: Including pain, discharge, bleeding, internal itch, and hearing loss.
• Testicular Lumps or Severe Pain: Sudden or severe testicular issues need in-person evaluation.
• Breast Lumps: Requires a physical exam to ensure thorough assessment.
• Urine Infections in Children, Males, and Pregnant Women: Best managed with a physical assessment.
• High Fevers in Infants: Babies under 1 year old with a temperature over 38°C require immediate in-person care.

Mental Health Conditions

For certain mental health conditions, continuity of care and in-person follow-up may be advised. If our GP feels a physical consultation is necessary, they will guide you on the best options.

Our priority is your safety, and if a condition cannot be safely managed online, our doctors will explain why and help you find the right path for further care.

Yes, we can issue medical sick certificates through our online consultations. However, please note the following:

• No Retrospective Certificates: We can only issue certificates for cases where you’ve been seen within 48 hours of symptom onset, or if you provide relevant medical documentation.

• Certificates Requiring Physical Examination: Certain certificates require an in-person assessment and cannot be issued online, including:

  • Ergonomic assessments for workplace or home office equipment
  • Driver’s license medical reports
  • Fit-for-work certificates
  • Sports fitness certificates (e.g., gym, marathon, sports participation)

Case-by-Case Basis

Yes, we can issue prescriptions for most routine medications during your online consultation. This allows you to conveniently access the treatments you need without an in-person visit.

Medications We Cannot Prescribe Online

For safety and monitoring reasons, there are certain medications we cannot prescribe through online consultations:

• Medications Requiring Careful Monitoring: This includes medications that need regular blood tests, such as anticoagulants (blood thinners) and some mood stabilizers.

• Controlled Substances and Potential Drugs of Abuse: Due to safety concerns, we cannot prescribe these medications remotely. Examples include:

  • Medications for ADHD
  • Opioid painkillers
  • Sleeping tablets
  • Relaxants (e.g., benzodiazepines)

• Consultations for Children: If you’re booking a video consultation for a child, please make sure that both you and the child are physically present and visible during the call. This ensures accurate care and is essential for the consultation to proceed.

• Consultations for Adults: Each adult patient needs to have their own confidential account for privacy and security. You cannot book a consultation on behalf of another adult.

• Age Requirements: At AMAE Clinic, our service considers anyone 17 years or older as an adult.

Yes, at AMAE Clinic, we can help manage certain common conditions for pregnant women, as long as they are not directly related to the pregnancy. However, please note:

• Urgent Pregnancy Concerns:

  • Reduced Baby Movements or Bleeding: For these symptoms, please contact your local maternity assessment unit immediately.
